My great piano dream.

My gift to Rexburg this year is the gift of an incredible idea. Sydney has its fireworks and New York city has its ball drop, so how can Rexburg compete? The Amazing Piano Drop!

Instead of a boring count as a ball slowly slides (doesn’t technically drop at any point) down a pole in Times Square, let’s gather on main street where a massive crane will hold ten pianos one hundred feet in the air.

With ten seconds left in the year, a piano will be dropped from the sky for every second. Imagine it in your mind… Crash, crash, crash, and so on. The sound of ten pianos exploding into a mass of wires, wood, and the wrenching of metal, only to be replaced by the thunderous applause of the gathered crowd.

Can this idea possibly be improved? Let me know if you think it’s possible.
