So last weekend was Spring Break. What did you do? Did you leave town? Did you go see “Monsters and Aliens” at The Rex? Go bowling, hiking, drag Main? Did you sleep in and watch a lot of Mo-Tab? Or did you say No Mo’ Tab? How did Rexburbia spend Spring Break?

Let us know and you could win a $20 Gift Card at Big Jud’s Diner. All you have to do is leave a comment telling us about Spring Break in Rexburg- anything at all- even memories of past Spring Breaks- and we will randomly draw a number from the list of comments to pick our winner.

(Remember to keep it clean and stay on topic: off-color comments will be disqualified.)

Sorry, a typo: it’s “Monsters Vs. Aliens”- I just went and saw it and actually I don’t think anyone won. (Don’t worry, this comment isn’t eligible for the giveaway- although I am craving a mushroom burger right now chased down with an Ironport Cherry.)

I’m living in Utah and I actually went home to the cold tundra of Rexburg!! Woot woot. And I did go to The Rex!

  • Candice Rail says:

When I lived in Rexburg, it seems that we sacrificed Spring Break for Spudharvest vacation. I approved heartily. I loved Spudharvest, because you either earned good money, or you took a vacation when no one else in the world is thinking of vacationing. The lines at Disneyland were markedly shorter.

For this Spring Break, we braved the cold of Island Park, snowmobiled, and enjoyed Conference and family. I do not have children in school, so I do not feel the full affect of Spring Break. Even the weather had not yet let me know that it was spring. Someday, it will truly be spring. Actually, I think that happened today.

  • Jenna's brother says:

The wife and me used to take the youngens to the car wash for bath time. I’d yell, “Cover up your eyes and drop your britches! Who wants a wax?” When they was done, we take ‘em home for sum roadkill suprise!

  • Heather says:

The fact that only four people have commented (including Jenna) makes my odds of picking up a gift card pretty darn good.

Hmmm…Spring Break…dental appointments and eye appointments for all six members of the family. A photo shoot of my adorable kids. A viewing of the new Hannah Montana movie. A date with my husband. Worked a few days to bring in some cash. What else could I ask for?

I’m taking a trip back to Rexburg in July. I could use the gift card then.

What does a true Rexburbite do during spring break? Burn ditch banks, of course! Those pesky weeds which hang around through the winter must be done away with, so every pyromaniac in the valley is outside, satisfyingly watching the smoke wafting from one overgrown area to the next. Ahhhhh….

  • Mrs. Olsen says:

In High School I went with 2 fellow Madison Bobcats to Jackson Hole for the day. As luck would have it in Idaho in springtime, we got snowed in and couldn’t make it back over the pass. Luckily, our friend knew a family there and we crashed at their place. Most of my spring break in rexburg memories include a surprise snow storm.

  • Jenna's sis-in-law says:

Please feed my husband more Big Jud burgers, I don’t think he eats enough of them.
