REXBURG MEDICAL: Meet Dr. Marshall

By Jennica Watson Hirrlinger
Do you remember the whole teenage-anst thing about pimples and prom? I do. Once a friend and I sat on my parents’ front porch with some boys who’d unexpectedly popped in, praying it was dark enough outside to hide the pore-clearing mask we’d applied. I’d like to say we were saved by the moonlight, but I don’t remember those boys asking us to prom, so maybe I’m fooling myself. I had my share of freak-outs about acne during my youth but I survived; assured that the promise of better skin would come with voter registration and college applications. What a bunch of propaganda that was! And I can assure you I’ve never had fresh, clear skin like Rebecca Gayheart of Noxema commercial fame.
Speaking of commercials, this is my attempt to advertise for a brand new, specialty-trained dermatologist located right here in Rexburg, Idaho. His name is Dr. Dan Marshall, D.O. Born and raised on a farm in Osgood, Dr. Marshall served an LDS mission in Taiwan, married a girl from Idaho Falls, dabbled in engineering, went to medical school, trained in all aspects of dermatology, brought his family back to Idaho, and is now practicing in his own office: Alpine Dermatology. In case you feel like that last sentence simplifies a man’s life too much, fear not: there’s more. For example, Dr. Marshall has nine kids, loves hunting and fishing, and is a wiz at carpentry. In fact, he helped build a procedure room in his new office and installed special lights to facilitate his patient care.
Dr. Marshall is dedicated to caring for his patients in a compassionate manner and like my short sentence summarizing this doctors’ life, there is a lot more to dermatology as well. Alpine Dermatology deals with all aspects of general, surgical, and cosmetic issues. Basically, if you have any problem with your skin, hair, or nails Dr. Marshall can help you. He can be reached at (208)359-4841 and found inside the Rexburg Medical Center at 393 E. 2nd N. Rexburg, Idaho. Call with questions or to make an appointment.

I remember popping all my zits at night then smearing multiple Strydex pads over the open wounds. Man, that stung. After that my face would be beet red and I hoped it would all heal by morning.
ouch!
